Stamp Gift Sets

The gift sets are the easiest way to put a Noolibird stamp into someone's hands ready to use. A stamp, a matching VersaFine Clair ink pad and a small stack of blank cards, all in a hand-stamped gift box — nothing else needed to start. I put each set together myself: a stamp chosen for its versatility and forgiving outline, the ink shade that brings it out best, and uncoated card that takes the impression cleanly. Sets run across folk, botanical, woodland and Christmas themes, and the price ranges from £22 to £65 depending on the stamp size. A good way in for someone new to stamping, and a thoughtful gift for someone who already makes things by hand.

The gift box is itself part of the gift — hand-stamped with a Noolibird design rather than dropped in a plain mailer. Inside, a short instruction card walks the recipient through their first prints so the set works straight out of the box, whether they've stamped before or not.

If you'd like a handwritten note included, or you're not sure which set suits the person you're buying for, drop me a line — I read every message myself and reply personally.

Frequently asked questions

What comes in a Noolibird gift set?

A rubber stamp, a matching VersaFine Clair ink pad, blank cards in coordinating stock, and a hand-stamped gift box. Everything needed to start stamping straight away — no extra purchases required.

Are gift sets suitable for complete beginners?

Yes — I put them together with first-time stampers in mind. The stamp is chosen for its forgiving outline (tolerant of pressure variation) and the ink is the right pigment shade for that design. A short instruction card walks the recipient through their first prints.

Can I add a personal message or gift wrap?

Every set arrives in a hand-stamped gift box, so it's already presentable as a gift. For a handwritten note inside, email me after placing your order and I'll include one.

How long do the included ink pads last?

VersaFine Clair pads last for years of regular use. If a pad starts to feel dry, refill bottles in the same colour are available separately — a few drops left to absorb overnight restore it completely.

Can you build a custom gift set?

Yes — if you have a particular stamp and ink combination in mind that isn't already a standard set, get in touch and I'll put one together for you, in the hand-stamped gift box.

Choosing your ink — questions answered

Some pigment inks can be heat-set on fabric, but always check the individual pad and test a scrap first. For everyday card-making and journaling, the pads here are chosen for paper.

Pigment inks sit on the surface, give richer, more opaque colour, resist fading and work on coloured and dark card — but take a little longer to dry. Dye inks soak in, dry fast and are bright on white card, but can look thinner on detailed stamps. For finely detailed stamps, pigment is usually the better choice.

Tap the pad gently onto the stamp (rather than pressing the stamp into the pad) for even coverage, press straight down with flat hands without rocking, and lift cleanly. Small pads let you ink just part of a stamp for two-tone effects.

Yes — pigment inks show up beautifully on dark and kraft card, where dye inks tend to disappear. Gold or copper on dark card is one of my favourite looks.

For crisp detail and lettering, an oil-based pigment ink like VersaFine Clair gives the sharpest print and dries quickly. For colour work and layering, a water-based pigment such as VersaColor is ideal. Most makers end up with one of each.

Wipe stamps with a damp cloth or baby wipe between colours, and store pads flat and closed, out of direct sun, so they don't dry out. Looked after, both last for years.
