Foxgloves, fritillaria, ferns — these are the wildflowers I keep coming back to. I drew this collection from plants I know from the hedgerows and woodland edges that grow natively near where I live in Sussex, and they have a delicacy that I find really satisfying to work with. The ferns especially — three different sizes and shapes — are endlessly useful for building scenes and layering.

The foxgloves are tall and slender, designed to work beautifully alongside the hare stamps or standing alone in a botanical arrangement. The fritillaria is one of my favourite flowers to draw — its chequered bell shape translates really well into lino.

Sample images were stamped using VersaColor in Green Tea, Split Pea and Boysenberry, and VersaFine Clair in Glamorous.
