Flying Owl and Landscape Christmas Rubber Stamp

A barn owl swooping through a winter landscape — this design was worked from a lino cut and has the kind of detail that rewards a slow, careful impression. The owl and the snowy landscape are designed as a pair, though each works beautifully on its own.

I stamped the owl in Charcoal VersaColor — the deep grey gives a real sense of movement and shadow. For the landscape I used VersaFine Clair Twilight, VersaColor Sky Grey and Atlantic Blue, building up a graduated sky effect.
